Emma Foy: A Dedicated Junior at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School

Meet Emma Foy, a junior at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School, who is making waves both in her academic pursuits and in her commitment to community service. At just 17 years old, Emma is already a shining example of dedication and care. Along with her studies, she actively participates in the Sauk Rapids-Rice Dance Team, DECA, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). However, it is her role at Country Manor Nursing Home that truly showcases her passion for making a difference.

Within the activities department at Country Manor, Emma is known for her unwavering dedication to enhancing the lives of residents. She is very proud of the festivities that go on during the holidays. Emma worked on Christmas Eve this year and spent time with residents doing Christmas-themed activities and celebrating the holiday. Activities not only bring joy to the residents but also foster a sense of unity among the staff, highlighting Emma’s ability to inspire collaboration and community spirit. Emma has learned that programs in which so many driven individuals come together and work toward the same goal create extraordinary communities.

Emma says “Being even a small part of these communities is extremely fulfilling. At Country Manor, I work in a department filled with the most considerate, caring individuals I have ever met. I am so grateful to work with people who, like myself, have such a passion for enriching the lives of our wonderful residents.”

Emma’s motivation stems from her personal experiences and her desire to create meaningful connections with others. Having spent time visiting her grandmother in a nursing home, Emma understands the profound impact a supportive
community can have on an individual's well-being. Her dedication to enriching the lives of the residents at Country Manor reflects her commitment to spreading happiness and fostering a sense of belonging.

Despite the challenges of balancing school, extracurricular activities, and work, Emma approaches each day with gratitude and a positive attitude. Emma reminds herself there is a reason she is involved in each of her activities. Keeping on top of her homework is always important, but she gives herself a little grace when her schedule gets especially full. She understands the importance of finding fulfillment in every aspect of life and encourages fellow students to seek out opportunities that align with their passions. “Find something that you love and genuinely care about. Look for opportunities like work or sports to pursue your passions. It can be hard with busy school schedules, but extending yourself beyond the classroom will be so rewarding.” said Emma.

Emma’s journey serves as a reminder that small acts of kindness can have a profound impact on others and that true fulfillment comes from making a difference in the lives of those around us.
